Reading from causeartist.com, the impact of social enterprise all over the world is getting bigger. In the European Union, 1 out of 4 new enterprises set-up every year are social enterprises. In the Philippines itself, 25% of businesses have become a combination of for-profit and non-profit (2015). Consumers are discovering and moving towards purchasing products from ethical brands and services, which Backyard Tour has seen by itself.
We personally agree with what causeartist.com mentioned about as well, on the statement that WE STILL HAVE MUCH MORE WORK TO DO. We need to get more investors to get involved. We need to get big box retail stores to transition the brands they carry. We need to continue to share ideas, articles, and brands. Backyard Tour itself has seen that in Malaysia, a lot of the public considers social enterprises as an alien concept. Here in Malaysia, doing good equals donation and volunteering - nothing else!
Being a travel company ourselves, let us share one new social entreprise on social good travel company out there - Have Fun Do Good , founded by Adam Kunes. They provide group travel experiences by partnering with non-profits to provide participants with a unique travel opportunity incorporating volunteer work. They offer National Park Tour through the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell; also tours in San Diego, Costa Rica and Breckenridge.
There are lot of new social enterprises budding all over the world - all because we know that we can make money while doing good .
